What To Consider When You’re Shopping For Online Courses

Online education afforded us with flexibility over use of time and in certain instances, good value for our money too. With a wide variety of online platforms offering courses in virtually any disciplines, how do you choose which one is right for you? We have an idea.

Cost

Obviously, a good price can make or break how likely you would purchase a cost. When comparing the prices of courses between different sellers, it would be essential that one compares cost in relative to the modules. While you are browsing for courses, this question must be answered: Can the price of course be justified?

If the course can be completed within 24 hours but the cost is on another level of price bracket, it may be wise to reconsider. Alternatively, one can wait for seasonal sales such as Black Friday and Christmas for greater savings.

Course validity

Some courses have ‘expiry date‘ which restricts access once it has expired. Before you make a purchase, prepare yourself for a commitment to learn during the active period of the online course. The clock continues to tick while you are logged off. Therefore, unless you are ready to study after work and during the weekends, it may be ill-advised to sign up for online courses when you are busy.

Courses Advisors

Are the courses curated by certified professionals? – this must be considered when you are viewing the course modules. It would be preferable to purchase a course developed by professionals in the industry as opposed to the alternative – lesser known individuals. While you have a general overview of the course module prior to purchase, more information is only revealed after purchase. This leaves you at disadvantage if you purchased a course with bare minimum for your studies.

Lastly… does it includes examination & certification?

Some courses are bundled with examination and certification (for an extra charge, of course). If you are considering to add any certification to your resume, it may be wise to consider it as opposed to obtain separate examination after you have completed the course. This gives you convenience, and hey, while the study momentum is there, why not get certified?
