Outlines
What makes a Product? Is your product solving an existing problem or is creating a new segment? Will someone pay to buy your products? And many more such questions help you to get into the details of a product.
Knowing your customers is the key to build a successful product. Understanding the demographics, their journeys and needs helps you to build a product which creates value for the business and society.
One of the challenges with many products is that they are not focused on customer needs or outcomes; they are typically driven by ideas of some HIPPO in the organization. For ex: A toothpaste comes with activated charcoal but how many of us have switched to it?
The vision for a product is the future state and it is the Product Owners responsibility that everyone involved in the product understands it. The vision also helps to articulate how value could be generated and hence communicating it in an effective way is important.
How is value and price different? What is value? What is price? How do we measure value? We will take a closer look at what are different models which a Product Owner can use to identify and deliver value.
As a Product Owner being open to experimentation is key to generating more value and revenue for the product. As a PO how do we enable experimentational and innovation within our teams.
Not every stakeholder is important, not every stakeholder needs to be satisfied. But how do we know who is who? Understanding stakeholders and managing their expectations is an art which PO has to master.
There are many aspects which are outside of the purview of Scrum, such as budgeting, then how is it handled and what is the role of PO in budgeting? How can PO support budgeting in an agile environment.
Our product is huge, should we have more Product Owners? There are 10 different teams working on the Product, do we need 10 Product Owners? And many more such questions will be addressed as we understand how to scale the PO role.
