5. Content Writer

This role exists long ago, but now it is getting even more important, thanks to the rise of digital marketing. Long ago, marketing does not stand a very important role in the Malaysia market as many will view it as secondary instead of a primary priority. Thing’s changed since then. Malaysia start to aware of the importance of marketing and how good marketing can help grow their business, exponentially.

Of course, to be a good content writer, one must possess a few skills that will let them excel in the job. Copywriting, Social media, web content writing are some of the skills required for the job as a content writer.

4. User Experience (UX) Engineer

I am a huge UX fan. It’s a mixture of Psychology and business, plus a lot of experiment. Basically, what a UX designer does is to make sure that their users are getting the best experience, and also at the same time carry out a lot of testing and research to find out what fits best for the user.
This job, obviously, requires some special skills in order to perform, one of it, of course, will be the knowledge on user experience. Although it is not necessary for a UX designer to know design, it is still good to know the knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. The best person for this job will be someone for the user interface (UI) field. The knowledge of UI will help UX designer to perfect their job.

Drive Test Engineer

In a nutshell, what Drive Test engineer do is improve the network coverage by troubleshooting problems happen on the telco network that they are using. This job is in high demand because Malaysia is aiming to cover more remote areas with telecommunication coverage, in order to make sure no area is being left out.
This job will require knowledge on Telecoms, drive test, 3G and some other knowledge on telco network.

Full Stack Engineer

What do they do? Easy, taking care of a company’s digital transformation, from the front to the end. This includes and not limited to handling the UX, databases, servers, system engineer and clients. A different project will have different needs, so, therefore, a full stack engineer will need to have a wide array of knowledge.
To be a full stack engineer, one must at least possess the knowledge of PHP, Python, MySQL, UX and more. The more the merrier.

Data Scientist

The winner for this list is non-other than, Data Scientist. By the name itself one can tell, Data Scientist is the scientist for data. What they do is analyzing the data collected to further use those data to improve or carry out some other activity. Data scientist stand a very important role in the future as the fourth industrial revolution’s 11 pillars rely heavily on data.
A data scientist should have knowledge of Python, R Language, AI, IoT, and data analysis to excel in this job.

Honorable Mention – Cyber Security Expert

This one is not in LinkedIn research list, but I personally think it is very much important, if not as important as Data Scientist. Think of it this way, with the connection that the fourth industrial revolution emphasis on, there is no doubt that the job demand for cyber security expert will increase exponentially. This is to make sure that a company will not face catastrophic disaster where they lose all their hard work.
