How Social Media Plays A Part in Business

Technologies are evolving, and so is the social media.

People spent averagely 2 hours and 22 minutes on social media, which serves as a great platform for companies to conduct their marketing strategies. That’s where the potential target audience for companies are lingering around, and that’s where most of the information could easily reach them.
Social media marketing isn’t as expensive as ATL and BTL, it’s cheap, and it’s there ready for businesses to use. It is also one of the shortest form of news transfer from one person to another, with just a click of a ‘Share’ button, there goes the post to another few hundreds of people in their friend lists.  Promotions, updates, freebies and other news be it good or bad, spreads easily to netizens through social media.

So then again, how does social media play a part in business?

Brand Awareness
To get customers to know that your product is out there, and is ready to be acknowledge and purchase, brand awareness is the key. When launching a new product or services, companies’ brand will be one of the decision-making factors for customers.
Remember when a ‘Stout Challenge’ appear out of no where and no one know which brand is it from? It took the Internet by storm and garnered 12,000 Malaysian participants to try the challenge. Well, that’s one way to market a stout.

Stay Top of Mind
For customers to re-purchase your product, you’ll have to be on top of their mind every time a conversation about your industry arise. Social media provides opportunity for businesses to communicate and bond with customers via daily or sponsored post. Though, contents should be kept simple and entertaining for it to garner longer attention.

Obtain Customer’s Thought/Feedbacks
No posts left un-commented, unless it is disabled. Netizens are likely to interact with a post if they deemed necessary to think out loud, regardless if it’s casual or a sponsored post. This way, companies can pick up the comments and decide if they would like to alter product changes according to the comment, or not. In a way, the comments section serve as an opportunity for businesses to bond with their customers via replies.

In conclusion, business should really take the chance to market on social media, that way customers would obtain more information about the latest news while companies can further grow their branding and bond with their customers.
