• ORGANISE - Manage the ‘4M’ resources effectively and efficiently when executing departmental plans

• LEAD – Demonstrate the ‘5R’ of assertive leadership styles at the workplace

• CONTROL – Apply the ‘Balance Scorecard’ to monitor the execution of departmental plans constructively

Module 1: The Four Types of Organizational Management Style.

• Laissez Faire – Hands Off, and FAST

• Autocratic – Do It My Way, and Do It NOW
• Democratic – Let’s Vote on It, and DO It TOGETHER
• Bureaucratic – By the Book, and Do It RIGHT

Module 2: Putting the FOUR Types of Management Styles into Action - The POLC (Plan, Organize, Lead, Control) Principle)

• Understand the importance of the POLC Principle

• Relate POLC Principles to the 4 management styles

• Bridge the gap between each stage in the PLOC Cycle towards effective and efficient organizational management


Module 3: Planning – The Foundation of Successful Management

• Understand the fundamentals of planning

• Determine the benefits of planning

• Relate planning and strategic operational management

• Establish effective planning via SMART (Specific, Motivating, Agreeable, Relevant, Trackable) goals setting and action plans

• Adopt the concept of ‘Management by Objectives’ in planning


Module 4: Organizing – The Foundation of Getting the Right Resources for Managerial Success

• Organize the ‘4M’ resources required to execute strategic plans

o Manpower: Establish manpower arrangement, by getting the right people for the right job

o Methods: Establish methods of execution, towards doing the right things right

o Machine: Identify machine and/ or material needed for execution, towards operational effectiveness and efficiency

o Money: Determine monetary requirements to implement strategic plans feasibly


Module 5: Leading – The Foundation of Achieving Superior Performance at the Workplace

• Lead the workforce with ‘POWER’ via positive influence

o Cultivate the practice of ‘leadership by example’

o Be a leader who extend trust to gain trust

• Motivate the workforce towards high performance

o Motivate the employees with high commitment but low competency level

o Motivate the employees with high competency but low commitment level

o Motivate the employees with moderate commitment and competency level

o Motivate the employees with high commitment and competency level


Module 6: Control – The Foundation of Enhancing Departmental Effectiveness and Efficiency

• Establish workforce cooperation and reduce workplace conflicts

• Monitor workforce performance constructively

• Provide performance feedback constantly and constructively

• Encourage continuous improvement in the workforce

o Individual continuous improvement in knowledge, skills and attitude enhancement

o Workplace continuous improvement towards higher effectiveness and efficiency
