WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
This course focuses on the existing and potential applications of the Internet of Things (IoT). Standards, protocols, and application stacks for IoT will be introduced. Access to the IoT devices via Internet Gateways and related security issues will be studied. Data Analytics, Data Management and Privacy Issues of IoT will be covered. Participants will also be briefly exposed to energy management issues for IoT. Upon completing the course, participants should be able to:
AUDIENCE
Participants are recommended to have preferably min. 2 years of experience in networking/internet and wireless communication technologies. However, if you do not have any experiences, we recommend that you take a networking course before enrolling in this course.
PREREQUISITES
In addition to their professional experience, students who take this training should have technical knowledge equivalent to the following courses:
• Azure fundamentals
• DP-200: Implementing an Azure Data Solution
METHODOLOGY
This program will be conducted with interactive lectures, PowerPoint presentation, discussion and practical exercise.

Fook Seng had over 20 years of working experience in Multi-National Corporations like Motorola & Intel and had a proven track record in managing and delivering multimillion-dollar mobile phone and IA silicon/platform software engineering projects. He is proficient in driving organization continuous improvement initiatives like CMU SEI CMMI, ISO9001 and Agile SCRUM/LEAN best practices. He is qualified as Malaysia HRDF Certified Trainer (Cert. No : TTT/11223) Nov'14, iNTACS Certified Automotive SPICE Provisional Assessor Aug'15, ScrumAlliance.org Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Intel University Certified Trainer of Toyota Production System's LEAN/Soft skills and Motorola University Certified 6 Sigma Green Belter & SEI CMM Assessor/Trainer. In Nov 2015, he joined National Advanced IPv6 Centre (NAv6), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) as Lecturer, Researcher and Consultant. He was also the Centre Trainer for Internet of Things (IoT), Software Engineering Best Practices, Agile/LEAN Project Management, Design Thinking, Engaging Generation-Z, Right Mindset for 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR), etc. His research interests were in the areas of IoT, Automotive/Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), Software Engineering (Web/Mobile/Embedded) and Maker Movement for 4IR. He spearheaded Maker Movement in USM by institutionalizing operating process and formalizing organization structure for Makers@USM Community. In less than 2 years, Makers@USM Community had rolled out 2 USM Internal Maker Exhibitions, setup 2 Maker Spaces in campus, rolled out 1 Maker Ko-K Class for undergraduates, participated in 10+ international/national Maker Events/Exhibitions and led Unimaker Northern Region Makeathon program sponsored by MoE in 2017. Dr.Selvakumar Manickam
