Formal learning has changed drastically over the last two years. The main reason behind this is the global pandemic that has affected our way of life as a whole. The changes that have occurred on an education front were already set in motion, it just progressed at a higher rate than expected due to the circumstances presented by the pandemic. One of the most apparent and prevalent change is the switch from physical or face to face learning being the norm, to having online learning as the default option. There are a limitless number of courses you can take online, anything from data analytics to stress management. Though there is still some debate on the efficacy of online learning, at least in certain instances, it is undeniable that online learning poses a lot of benefits as well.     With online learning, both students and teachers are able to set their time for lessons according to their convenience rather than being obliged to any given time. For example, if a lecture theater is only open during working hours on weekdays, both the teacher and the students have to adhere to having classes within this period. However in an online setting, the venue is removed from the equation thus is more flexible and setting a schedule or timing only relies on availability and convenience. There is also the option of having lessons and classes pre-recorded further increasing its flexibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

    It is proven that online learning is a lot cheaper than it is to enroll in a physical class. This is not because the quality of online learning is lesser than, but rather because there is less cost incurred anyways. As we\u2019ve gone over, going online removes the venue out of the equation which is pretty costly. By reducing the overhead cost, education institutes are able to bring their prices down making it easier on a students pocket.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. It is more accessible
    The Internet is a lot more accessible now than it was just 10 years ago. People across the world are able to share experiences through online means. The use of the internet and digitisation in general has only heightened over the course of the pandemic. This makes online learning a lot more accessible than physical learning. If students can\u2019t afford moving or traveling to another city for their education, they have the option of still receiving that education from the comfort of their homes. Therefore, more people are able to pursue educations through online learning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. It allows for a customized experience
    Not every student is equal. Some learn faster than others, and some require more practice or revision. Online learning allows for students to have a more curated and customized learning scheme. They are not only able to review and attend lessons at their own pace, but can also pick and choose the topics they want to learn for the day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. E-learning is eco-friendly
    Another big plus point for online learning is that it is the greener options. By not having the need of traveling to any given venue for the lesson, there is already a huge reduction of pollution and carbon footprint that would have otherwise occurred. Instead of having to buy textbooks and manuals, materials used for online learning are also available as a softcopy to be downloaded by the students.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
